Time is always the hardest resource to manage, especially when you’re juggling multiple responsibilities. Between running a business, working a full-time job to pay the bills, and raising four kids, finding time for my projects often feels impossible. But instead of waiting for the “perfect” time, I’m trying something new—making progress in small chunks and sharing the process as I go.
This is the first episode of my new vlog series, where I bring you along as I work through projects bit by bit. No waiting for a big project reveal—just real-time progress, problem-solving, and conversation. In this episode, I’m re-aligning and mounting the drawers on a desk I’m building while reflecting on time management as a maker.
The Challenge of Finding Time to Build
If you’re a DIYer, woodworker, or maker, you probably know the struggle. You get bursts of inspiration but struggle to find the hours needed to bring your ideas to life. I used to think I needed long, uninterrupted work sessions to make real progress, but lately, I’ve been rethinking that approach.
Instead of waiting for that perfect stretch of free time, I’m breaking my work into smaller, focused sessions. A few minutes here and there may not feel like much in the moment, but over time, those small wins add up.
Embracing the “Done in Chunks” Mentality
In this video, I talk about:
- The frustration of having limited time for personal projects
- How I’m adjusting my approach to work with the time I have
- The mindset shift that helps me keep moving forward
I’d love to hear from you—how do you manage your time for creative projects? Drop a comment on the video and let’s talk about it!
